CURRENT PROJECTS (see details under Projects)

  • Linking ecosystem-based production to food web structure - a global comparative study (multiple collaborators from Japan, US, Namibia, S. Africa, and Chile)

  • Trophic and upwelling-induced biomagnification of persistant organic pollutants (POPs) and heavy metals in boundary systems of the Western and Eastern North Pacific.

  • Fishbase/sealifebase. Development and integration of a new trophic level estimator (collaboration with Fish Information Network).

  • Manila Bay. Sources of organic matter and antibiotic resistence between Laguna Lake, Pasig R. and Manila Bay (colleaboration with Univ. of Philippines, Dept. of Microbiology).

  • Vietnam Fisheries. Community and trophic assessment of heavily exploited coastal regions, Phan Thiet Bay, southern Vietnam (collaboration with Hanoi University, Dept. of Biology).

  • Namibian Fisheries. Trophic comparison and utility for management of two sympatric hake species of the Northern Benguela Current (collaboration with Namibian Ministry of Fisheries).

  • Kyucho Current. Tracing Kyucho-Current transport of offshore organic matter to coastal Japan.

  • Galápagos Islands. Trophic analysis and links to mercury contamination in marine seabirds (collaboration with Ecuador and US intitutions).
